FibreGuard MY Spill on Sofa

Stain Removal Test

Before a single sofa leaves our Malaysian factory, its fabric battles through 17 of the most notorious household enemies—mayonnaise, red wine, even wax crayon—under strict, repeat-wash conditions. Conducted by Labotex, FibreGuard's independent, fully-accredited laboratory, this protocol guarantees that every accidental blotch of mud, coffee, or gravy vanishes with just water—no harsh chemicals, no panic required.

FibreGuard MY Abrasion Test

Mechanical Textile Test

Beyond stain resistance, FibreGuard fabrics undergo a battery of mechanical tests to prove their mettle against wear and time. These tests include:

  • Martindale & Wyzenbeek Wear Resistance (EN 14465, ASTM D4157) to test the fabric’s resistance to wear and abrasion from daily use.

  • Pilling & Brush Pilling (ISO 12945-2, ASTM D 3511) to evaluate how the surface of fabrics will look and perform after prolonged use.

  • Colour Fastness to Light (ISO 105-B02) to ensure colours remain vibrant and don’t fade with light exposure.

  • Washability (ISO 3759) to ensure the fabrics retain their original dimension, aspect, stability, colour, and beauty, wash after wash,

  • Fire Retardant (FR) Compliance to ensure the fabrics comply with a range of fire-retardant standards such as CAL 117, FMVSS, NFPA 260, BS58852 source 0, and more. FR compliance varies by collection and country, so please refer to fabric sample for applicable standards.

This internationally recognised certification ensures that each mill has established practical, measurable systems to manage and reduce its environmental impact. ISO 14001 sets the framework for organisations across all industries to monitor, control, and continually improve their environmental performance.

For customers, this means choosing FibreGuard fabrics contributes to a reduced overall environmental footprint, lower collective risk of pollution, and ongoing improvements in sustainable manufacturing practices.
